BETTER SCHOOLS FOR A BETTER CITY!

We are the most diverse school district in the state. We have some of the best and some of the most challenging schools. We have great human resources and way too much poverty. We must do better -

and the good news is that we can do better!

Better schools depend on better relationships -

• where well-prepared teachers and well-rested students can focus on learning;
• where district administrators support orderly and appropriately sized classes;
• where a hard-working board brings parents and the community into the schools by talking about how we all are responsible for student achievement.

Better schools require more and more effectively managed resources -

• the School Board must join with other partners on a state-wide basis to advocate for increases to education funding;
• the Board and the administration in consult with teachers and parents should identify ways to more effectively and efficiently spend its current dollars; and
• MPS needs to be seen as fiscally responsible to parents, staff, and Minnesota taxpayers.

Better schools will produce better results, a brighter future, a better city!

I am very excited to campaign for a seat on the board of Minneapolis Public Schools. We have the know how, we can get the resources - let's make the commitment.
